Hanjin has made a great contribution to the development of the Korean coastal shipping industry since the 1970s by promoting a balanced growth with other modes of transportation.

Brief History of Coastal Shipping

In 1991, Hanjin launched the container liner service between the ports of Busan and Incheon and introduced seven special vessels for cold-rolled steel products in 1993. Presently, with a total vessel tonnage of 110,109 DWT and 23 freighters, Hanjin carries different cargos including containers, steel products, coal, radioactive waste calling at the major ports of Busan, Incheon, Pohang, Gwangyang, Jeju, Pyongtaek, Boryeong, Mokpo, and Ulsan.

Brief history of Tramper Service

In 2004, Hanjin launched the steel outward shipping service of POSCO in China, Japan, and Hong Kong. Hanjin also provides shipping services for steel, grain, and other natural resources between North-East Asia and mid-Asia.
